The Flood
The Flood!!
"The Flood" is a hybrid RPG/party game for everyone of every age who wants to laugh, cry, and mutilate classic poetry as part of a deep, immersive study of farmland financialization.
For, oh, too long, those of us who've dreamed of such a game---
You; me; so many friends (you know the ones)---
For too long we've had to make do with RPGs and party games that lacked key, vital parts of that formula. For too long we've limped along drawing pictures while people shouted guesses at us; unpacking board games ... and then, uh, running out of time, and, uh, packing them back up again; and lowering imaginary dwarves and elves into uncropped dungeons. For too, too long ...
We've been able to laugh and cry, perhaps, yes, but not to mutilate classic poetry.
We've been able to play party games and RPGs, sure! or even combinations.
... but that crucial element, that ... that je ne sais quoi, that thing that could have let us really sink our teeth into the financial, agricultural, and political issues of farmland assetization today ... it, it has been missing. It has been absent from us.
No more.
The Flood is here, and when it has washed by, we shall at last know peace.
(a game inspired by "Fields of Gold: Financing the Global Land Rush,"
which is by Dr. Madeleine Fairbairn.)
